Selvita in Zagreb is a scientific research organization with a long research tradition in the fields of biology, chemistry, biomedicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and related scientific fields, with the purpose of discovering new chemical and biological entities intended for the treatment of various diseases. We are a service organization; our scientists are working on projects, in collaboration with external partners, aimed at discovering a new drug or establishing test systems and platforms that improve the predictability of the research process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently design, plan, and execute complex synthetic organic chemistry experiments to achieve desired outcomes
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, drawing conclusions and effectively communicating findings in written and oral reports in English
  • Design and synthesize molecules with druglike properties, using knowledge of SAR, ADME, PK, and in-silico and in-vitro predictors for multiparameter optimization
  • Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to contribute to the success of research projects
Your Background
  • PhD or Masters in chemistry with 3+ years of independent work in the field of synthetic organic chemistry;
  • Strong synthetic organic chemistry expertise and application of the latest scientific methodologies to solve challenging medicinal chemistry problems
  • Experience in advanced synthetic, purification, and spectroscopic techniques used in the preparation and characterization of complex organic molecules (HPLC, NMR instrumentation)
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory instrumentation and software (SciFinder, SpinWorks, Biovia Draw…)
  • Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team in support of overall research activities and project goals
  • Knowledge in medicinal chemistry is an advantage with the desire and drive to contribute to the discovery of new drugs, as well as understanding of the entire drug discovery R&D process, including ADME/PK, pharmacology, formulations, and computational chemistry
