Offer description

Selvita is a global integrated service provider with laboratories in Poland (Krakow, Poznan, and Wroclaw), Croatia (Zagreb), and offices in Cambridge, UK, as well as the Greater Boston Area and San Francisco Bay Area in the US. Our company is dedicated to delivering comprehensive solutions that support our international clients in drug discovery and drug development.

As one of the largest preclinical contract research organizations in Europe, Selvita is driven by a clear mission: to bridge the gap between early drug discovery and the clinical stage of drug development.

At Selvita, we value partnership, excellence, passion, commitment, and integrity. We build strong, collaborative relationships with our clients and commit to the highest standards of quality. We fuel our pursuit of innovative solutions with enthusiasm, advance drug development with focused dedication, and ensure honesty and transparency in all our work.

Due to constant development, currently, we are seeking a candidate for a Scientist position, to join the developing High Content Screening facility within a large project initially focused on assay development in the areas of neuroinflammation and fibrosis. We are seeking a self-motivated applicant with a strong interest in high-content experimentation and assay development for drug discovery. The person will have strong hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture (including some experience with hiPSC-derived cells), immunofluorescence/immunocytochemistry, standard molecular biology methods, direct knowledge of software for imaging analysis, and basic skills on new scripts generation for the development of innovative HCS phenotypic assays.

Join us at Selvita, where these values guide our mission to advance drug discovery to the clinical stage of drug development.

Key responsibilities
  • Development of novel high-content assays for drug screening in a multi-task project.
  • Growing cell cultures in ongoing projects.
  • Execute medium to high-throughput assays for drug discovery and further compound pharmacological characterization.
  • Work collaboratively with other scientists in particular for the generation of new scripts or analytical AI and Machine Learning-based methods for high content analysis.
  • Execute, troubleshoot and communicate tasks independently and effectively.
  • Perform data analysis and write reports on research findings, reporting directly to the project leader.
  • Maintain extremely organized and accurate records.
  • Provide regular feedback at inter-team meetings.
  • Provide routine scientific reports.
Your background
  • MSc in Biology, Molecular Biosciences, Biotechnology or related disciplines with a minimum of four years of experience in an industrial environment (preferably Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biosciences, Molecular Cell Biology, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, or related scientific disciplines with a minimum of two years of experience in an academic post-doc or industrial environment).
  • Strong experience with mammalian cell culture (experience with hiPSC/hESC and primary cells is highly desired).
  • Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry and imaging acquisition (in particular confocal imaging) strong experience and basic knowledge of FRET analysis.
  • Experience with High Content Screening systems in a medium to high-throughput assay fashion with strong skills in cell-based assay development and validation with standard HTS/HCA parameters.
  • Knowledge of large data transfer will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of intracellular cell signaling and pathways characterization.
  • Knowledge of the cellular mechanism of protein-to-protein interaction is desirable.
  • Experience with standard molecular biology techniques - i.e. siRNA qPCR, and eventually Western blotting is a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a substantial workload.
  • Good spoken and written English.
Your Benefits Package
  • Working in world-class extensive research facilities and modern laboratories.
